It started in a home kitchen.
No catering van, no corporate contracts, no event staff. Just Chef Gigi, Chef Chen, and a belief that food prepared with love and intention could move people.
Gigi grew up carrying the flavors of Haiti , the slow-cooked griots, the djon djon rice, the creole sauces her family made for every celebration. Chen brought the bold, unapologetic spirit of Jamaican cooking , jerk seasoning, curry goat, the kind of food that fills a room before it ever hits the table. Two islands. Two traditions. One shared obsession with feeding people well.
They started small. Homemade meals for neighbors, friends, anyone who found them through word of mouth. Every order was personal. Every plate carried something beyond ingredients it carried culture, memory, and the quiet pride of two chefs who refused to cut corners.
Word spread the way good food always does one table at a time.
What started at home is now a company booked every weekend since October 2023. Trusted by corporations, celebrated at weddings, and recognized with one of the most distinctive honors in Caribbean culinary life: Chef Gigi is the Official Chef of the Haitian National Football Team for FIFA World Cup 2026.
But the mission hasn't changed. Every event Gigi & Chen caters is still personal. Still intentional. Still rooted in the same Caribbean kitchens where it all began.

Angella Germain, known to her clients as Chef Gigi is the heart, hands, and vision behind Gigi & Chen Caribbean Catering.
Rooted in Haitian tradition and shaped by over a decade of high-level culinary experience, Chef Gigi brings a rare combination of cultural authenticity, luxury hospitality standards, and precision nutrition to every table she serves.
Her journey began in the kitchens of the JW Marriott Marquis Miami, where she mastered the art of delivering world-class cuisine under pressure. From there she went on to serve as a Private Chef to professional athletes, designing individualized meal programs built around performance, recovery, and excellence.
Today, Chef Gigi holds one of the most distinguished honors in Caribbean culinary circles . She is the Official Chef of the Haitian National Football Team for the FIFA World Cup 2026, responsible for fueling Haiti's finest athletes on the world's biggest stage.
She also serves as Executive Chef at one of Miami's largest megachurches, leading high-volume kitchen operations with the same care and precision she brings to intimate private dinners.
Fluent in English, Haitian Creole, French, and Spanish, Chef Gigi brings warmth, intention, and cultural depth to every event , from weddings and milestone celebrations to corporate dinners and private chef experiences.
Meet Chef Chen
Island roots. World-class craft.
Demar Speid, known in the kitchen as Chef Chen grew up in Jamaica with food running through everything.
His culinary career began on the island, working the line at some of Jamaica's most celebrated resort properties Hedonism III, Breezes Resort & Spa, Azul Beach in Negril, and Grove Park Inn. Each kitchen sharpened him. Each property demanded consistency, creativity, and the ability to cook for guests from every corner of the world.
What stayed constant through every posting was the food he grew up with. Jerk seasoning rubbed by hand. Curry goat slow-cooked until the meat gives. Fried plantains crisped just right. The bold, unapologetic flavors of Jamaica that don't need explanation they just need to be tasted.
When he met Chef Gigi, something clicked. Two islands. Two traditions. One shared belief that Caribbean food deserves to be celebrated at the highest level.
Today Chef Chen brings that same quiet precision and Jamaican culinary heritage to every Gigi & Chen event from passed hors d'oeuvres to full-service celebrations.
